Recoleta Cats

The cemetery in Recoleta (neighborhood in Buenos Aires) is an exquisite example of what beautiful cemetery architecture should be. Many famous people are buried there, including the Duarte and Sarmiento families.

One thing that struck me was the number of cats that I saw there. There were at least 20 within view, with many hiding, I'm sure. I overheard a tour guide say that they helped keep the rats away, which is why they were allowed to stay.

so the cats keep the rats away. what keeps the cats away? how are tons of cats better than tons of rats? that's racism.

Nothing keeps the cats away. You can pet cats but not rats. Cats go poop in hidden places and don't chew on dead bodies.

still, it's racism. or rather specism.

There were so many wild cats in the Philippines, they ate the dogs. They were terrifying and people wonder why me and cats don't get along now. Even American cats. What ever happened to "there are NO cats in America"!?!?!?
